Poor little kid doesn't have any energy at all... even for a ride on the merry-go-round! (Wow, he does have problems) but what's this? His friend has sandwiches made with Sunbeam bread... He has energy now! The Kid and his friend can now share a horse on the merry-go-round. Before any explanation is given, a vibrating target will hypnotize you to buy Sunbeam bread...

Another in the series of Hopalong Cassidy Sunbeam bread commercials from the 1950s. This one starts off with a suburban kid dressed in a fancy cowboy suit -- asleep. The relentlessly cheerful announcer exclaims "This boy is ready for the bunkhouse" but suddenly a disembodied hands tempt the boy with Sunbeam bread. Now he's full of energy and writes a letter gushing about Sunbeam bread to the famous TV cowboy Hoppy. (Please note that Hoppy never appears in the commercial). To further add insult, the letter is shown and read aloud to us in excrutiating detail!

At first, this may look like copy of Sunbeam Bread #5, but no, this one is slightly different, we do see the magical (How DO they do that? Gee whillackers!) rope trick, and the same maniacal kid pointing to the bread. He then takes it into the house (what was the intention of lassoing it then?) and then takes out a slice and spreads some unmentioned black goo on it. Sharp observers will notice a lack of a plate.

Yet another Sunbeam bread spot, with the kid in the cowboy outfit. See him leap out of a suburban home then pedal his clearly stationary bicycle to pick up bread, which has the picture of his hero Hopalong Cassidy on the package.

Again our kid who looks like Alfalfa from 'Our Gang', dressed in his cowboy outfit, lassos a loaf of Sunbeam bread right out the kitchen. Next he makes a few goofy poses while pointing to a picture of not Hopalong Cassidy, but... Gene Autry!

Our hungry kid in the cowboy outfit realizes the house is out of sunbeam bread! He runs with cart in hand to the store to stock up! (blissfully ignorant of the kid in the Sunbeam #1 commerical who was too tired to ride a merry-go-round). He buys three loaves then runs home. No doubt to catch up, because this ad says to eat it 'five times a day'. And if you don't feel like it, the hypnotizing circles will make sure you do...

A man takes his grand kids to the beach along with a picnic of Sunbeam sandwiches. Is he the grandfather of the cowboy kid featured in other Sunbeam commercials? If true, what has he done with him? All the Sunbeam ads seem directed at mom, yet we never see her actually buying the bread or making sandwiches. During the fifties, women either baked their own bread or went to the corner bakery. Why should they buy Sunbeam at the supermarket? Sunbeam’s solution was to pitch their bread to the less perceptive family members... the kids and grandpa. Mom may get stuck buying the bread, but she can always feed it to grandpa when he takes the kids to the beach, then she and grandma can have a civilized lunch at home that doesn’t include Sunbeam bread!
